There was a little shuffling of places following the BOK Galoppen on a glorious day at Wavering Down, but the leading runners were unchanged. Congratulations to our four champions and everyone else who took part.

The Senior Men’s championship developed into a contest to see if anyone could catch Steven Horsler, who was a massive 86 points clear of the field by September! In the chasing pack were Mike Christopher, Chris Branford, Richard Brightman, Martin Cross, Roger Hills and Andy McNally. Despite fierce competition from Chris in the autumn (including maximum scores at the WSX and WIM Galoppens!) Steven kept the lead, holding Chris off by 17 points.

Nikki Crawford is the Senior Women’s champion, climbing from 6th place in September to beat Sue Hands by 25 points. Sue had led the table for six months but Nikki overtook her with fine performances at the Caddihoe and in the WSX and WIM Galoppens. Mel Rayner came 3rd with several impressive scores. Eleven women and fifteen men scored 400 points or more from their best six events.

Fraser Smith is the Junior Boys winner and Rebecca Whittingham won the Junior Girls. They are now competing at Light Green level and getting a real taste of technical challenges. Two young talents to watch in the new year!

So, we look forward to the 2012 Club League season. The Rules are very similar to 2011 though with some adjustments to multipliers for competitors choosing to ‘run down’ colours. Good luck everyone!
