Along with members of Loders Youth Club, we were delighted to be invited to Moreton gardens
to a Royal Garden Party celebrating 70 years of the Dorset Youth Association

On a sunny afternoon, in a beautiful setting, there was time to enjoy our surroundings - and look for some shade!

When Prince Edward arrived, we waited our turn and wondered who would speak to him and what we should say.....

He spoke to the group from Loders Youth Club:

then moved on to speak to us:

Ollie Lee, Charlie Parkman and Eva Bowring chatted to HRH explaining the LYPs concept and it's successes. Ollie advised how we fund raise to subsidise the various sporting sessions. Charlie advised how he played cricket and also real tennis which received a very keen interest from HRH who asked if we used the Hyde Courts at Bridport, he's a keen real tennis
player. Eva explained her interests and success at cricket county level.

After the formal introductions to each youth group, everyone went along to the tea marquee for a delicious finger buffet after which HRH handed out some awards to people in recognition of their many years providing voluntary help to the youth sectors. We were delighted when Mary Kite was presented with a certificate for her dedication to youth organisations over the years, Tina from youth club had nominated Mary and we were all very proud of her when she collected her certificate from HRH
