LINKS WITH PARENTS

THE PARENTS, TEACHERS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION

Parents are automatically members of the PTFA which seeks to further the educational welfare of the children through fundraising activities, practical help, social and educational events.

The main annual fundraising event is the May Fair, and other major events include a Christmas Fayre in November/December. The PTFA has funded major purchases such as sports tops, a music stands, a PA system, a keyboard, play equipment and a new football strip. It also funds the transport element of most educational visits.

The PTFA's affairs are managed by a Committee comprised of parents, who are in the majority, and teachers. The committee is elected annually at the AGM which is held in September.

CONTACT WITH THE SCHOOL

If any parent feels something at school is worrying their child, please contact the class teacher or head straight away. A quick word before or after school is often possible. The headteacher can usually be found in the playground from 08:40-08:55. Longer interviews can be arranged as needed.

Parent consultations are held in Autumn, usually around half-term. These give parents the opportunity to discuss progress with staff at an early stage in the school year. Reports are issued during the Summer Term and staff will be happy to arrange a time to discuss these with you.

If you have any questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.
