Last Saturday Loders School running club took part in the Cluster X Country Championships at Symondsbury. Luckily it was a dry, bright day but running conditions were very wet and muddy. |
The girls were the first to run. Loders ran a wonderful race with Phoebe leading the team home in second place, closely followed by Ophelia in fourth. Lydia, Eva and Lizzy all finished within the first fifteen places. Lydia and Eva produced fantastic runs because they are only in years 5 and 4 respectively. Isla, Katie and Grace all ran extremely well for the team. |
We were also very successful in the boy’s race with three of our boys finishing in the top ten positions!! Jak ran the race of his life to be beaten by less than a second in a sprint finish for first place, James ran an excellent race to finish fourth as did Charlie hot on his heels in seventh. JJ, Scott, Harry and Ollie all ran superbly bringing the boys team home with a good chance of being in the medals. Our boys are a very young team so things look extremely promising for next year. |
When the results were read Loders had won the girls team event and were placed second by only one point in the boys. What a fantastic achievement! A huge well done to all of you – you did us proud! Anna Willmore |
